Tribal PREP- Session #5 3/11/13

We hope everyone makes it through this cold weekend. We are starting the Becoming A Responsible Teen (BART) section of Tribal PREP. Session #5 will focus on understanding HIV & AIDS in the Native American community. We have two fun activities called "Myth or Fact" & "Knowing the Risks" planned for Monday.We look forward to seeing everyone next week. • We will have $10 Target, AMC, Starbucks and McDonalds gift cards for all participants. 
• We will be distributing our monthly $25 gas cards to those family who carpool.
• 2 Youth Members have earned an extra $10 gift card for bringing a friend
• We have officially closed Tribal PREP enrollment
• Menu- Chinese food, fruit and water

Tribal PREP- Session #4 3/4/13

We hope everyone enjoys this beautiful weather! We have recruited a Planned Parenthood educator to co-facilitate Session #4. The Planned Parenthood educator will provide information about birth control options and STI/HIV prevention. We also have a Native American "Teen Parent Panel" video to show. The teen's in the video discuss the difficulties of being a Native teen parent. We look forward to seeing everyone next week. Community Night Thursday February 28th

There will be a community night this Thursday, February 28th. Due to this event the Youth Center will be closed all day. Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.

Tribal PREP- Session #3 Today!

Miyuyam (Hello To All),

We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. We resume our Tribal PREP sessions today. Everything will be the same from the first two sessions. 

We are meeting from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the SDUSD Ballard Parent Center. $10 gifts cards will be distributed to the youth.

Tonight’s session is called “The Emotional Bank Account”. We are going to discuss the importance of a teen being connected to their parents, family and community. It is a very exciting session!

• We are still providing families that carpool with a $25 gas card per month.
• This is the last week to bring a friend and qualify for the “bring a friend incentive” and receive $10 gift card/per 4 sessions your friend attends.
• Will be having Papa Johns pizza, fruit and water.
• This is the first of five straight sessions.
