Digital Story Telling Starting next March!

Starting next March on Tuesday Nights we are going to be starting digital story telling for all the youth. 

Every Tuesday we will discuss a different aspect of digital story telling and those youth members who are dedicated enough, by the end of the month they will have a full digital story to share with there friends and family.

1st Annual Native Basketball Tournament

With Basketball season in its fullest the youth center decided to take advantage of this and make another trip out to some basketball games. Only this time it was the First Annual Native Youth Basketball Tournament at UCSD. The tournament was intense but it was a friendly and very exciting time. As well as the Basketball Tournament, the center was there we were also granted a actual campus tour of UCSD, along with meeting former NFL player Jim Warren! JPs Big Basketball Game

On Friday February 8th, 2013, the youth center was able to attend a basketball game of one of our own, Mr. JP Chenevey . The game was filled with excitement as our youth center cheered him on giving all the support we could. in the end the Ravens were not able to come out with a win but it was a winning experience for us as a youth center in the end. JP loved that fact that we could make it and we look forward to joining many of our other youth members who have sport events or activities that they participate in regularly.

Tribal PREP- Subway....

Tribal PREP is going to continue on Monday February 11th @5:00p.m.-7:00p.m.

Session 2 is called "The Dating Game".

For those who are interested in our menu, we are having Subway sandwiches, chips and water. You are more then welcome to bring your own drink. Eat Fresh! 

Tribal PREP- Carpool Incentive

Miyuyam (Hello To All),

• SDAIYC is still offering a carpool incentive to Tribal PREP families. If any parent is able to transport another Tribal PREP participant, you can earn a $25 gas card once a month until the end of the program. Talk to us at the next Tribal PREP meeting.

• Is there a family involved in Tribal PREP that lives near Paradise Hills? We have a Tribal PREP participant who needs a ride home. If you are able to provide our youth member with a ride home, you can earn a $25 gas card. If you can help our youth member please call Carmen at 619.840.5714.

Tribal PREP- NEW INCENTIVE PLAN

Miyuyam (Hello To All),

We are introducing a new incentive plan for Tribal PREP! SDAIYC is attempting to increase our Tribal PREP cohort from 20 to 25 youth participants. Any youth member who recruits a friend to sign up for Tribal PREP can receive an additional $10 gift card each month! If you sign up a new Tribal PREP participant, you can receive a $10 gift card for every 4 sessions your friend attends. 5 youth members have the opportunity to earn an extra ($30) over the next 11 weeks. Sign up a friend!!! Tribal PREP will begin on Monday February 4th 2013 from 5:00p.m-7:00p.m. @ the Ballard Center 

We will be having pizza, fruit and water for dinner.
We will be issuing $10 gift cards to all youth who participate. 
Please bring a signed consent form Monday (if you have not already turned one in).

ANNOUNCEMENT

For any parent who is willing to transport another Tribal PREP participant (youth from different households) to, from or both to all sessions. We will be giving the carpooling parent a $25 gas card at the beginning of each month.
